Photo & Media Policy

1. Consent Comes First

We photograph and record classroom life to document learning and to share the joy of our school. A child appears in published media only with a signed Permission to Photograph form from a parent or guardian, obtained at enrollment. Declining consent never affects a child's care or enrollment.

2. How We May Use Media

With consent on file, Discovery School may use photos and videos of your child, without compensation, in: the school website and parent portal, our social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), printed materials (brochures, flyers, displays), and advertising for the school. Media created by or for the school is the property of Discovery School. We choose images carefully and portray children respectfully.

3. How We Protect Children in Media

• Published photos are never captioned with a child's full name, and we do not publish birthdates, addresses, or schedules alongside images.
• Location and device metadata (EXIF/GPS) is stripped from photos uploaded to our systems.
• Photos on our website are excluded from image-search indexing.
• Portal photos and documents are encrypted at rest and available only to the child's own family and authorized staff.
• Staff may not take photos of children on personal devices or post school photos to personal accounts.

4. Revoking Consent

You may revoke photo consent at any time by written notice to the office. Revocation applies prospectively: we will stop new uses and remove images from the website and our active social accounts within a reasonable time, but we cannot recall printed materials already distributed, copies made by third parties, or platform archives outside our control.

5. Other Families and Visitors

Parents photographing school events may capture other children; we ask that such photos not be posted publicly without the other family's permission. We are not responsible for media created by third parties at public events.
