Payment & Refund Policy
Discovery School of Mesquite · Last updated Jul 25, 2026 · All policies
1. Tuition and Fees
Tuition is due in advance on the schedule stated in your enrollment agreement, which together with the Parent Handbook controls if it differs from this page. Registration, enrollment, supply, and activity fees are non-refundable once paid. Current rates are available from the office; rates may change with at least 30 days' written notice.
2. No Credits for Absence or Closures
Tuition reserves your child's place, not attendance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, no refunds or credits are given for absences, illness, vacations, holidays, or closures for weather, emergencies, or events beyond our control. Scheduled holiday closures are published in the school calendar.
3. Late and Returned Payments
Payments not received when due may incur a late fee, and returned or failed payments a returned-payment fee, each in the amounts stated in your enrollment agreement and up to the maximum permitted by Texas law. We may suspend or terminate care for accounts that remain unpaid after notice, and unpaid balances may be referred to collections with recoverable costs and fees where the law allows. A late pick-up fee applies after closing time as set out in the Parent Handbook.
4. Withdrawal
Withdrawal requires at least two (2) weeks' written notice. Tuition is due through the end of the notice period whether or not the child attends. Prepaid tuition beyond the notice period is refunded within 30 days; deposits and non-refundable fees are not returned.
5. Disenrollment by the School
We may disenroll a child, with notice where practicable, for non-payment, safety concerns, or inability to meet the child's needs within our licensing requirements. In that case unused prepaid tuition beyond the final day of care is refunded.
6. Online Payments and Chargebacks
Online payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers. If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first — most issues are fixed within days. Chargebacks filed on validly owed tuition may be disputed, and associated costs may be added to the account balance where permitted.
7. Child Care Assistance
Families using Texas Workforce Commission child care assistance (CCS) follow that program's payment rules; parents remain responsible for co-pays and for tuition if assistance lapses.
